How Do Solar Fence Chargers Work?

Solar fence chargers work the same way that normal electric chargers work. Both create a short, startling electrical shock that’s transferred through the metallic fence when an animal or human comes into contact with the metal. The shock is safe but it is designed to be startling and even slightly painful.

The difference, however, is in how the charger itself is powered.

A solar charger has a solar panel attached to it. This solar panel, or photovoltaic cell panel, is covered in a grid pattern of cells that collect energy from the sun. This energy is then translated into useable electrical current that then powers the rechargeable battery that keeps the fence charger working.
